Veronica & Piper's Apartment - Wednesday All Day

The last week had been insane - in both good and bad ways. Veronica had gained a temporary roommate, spent a weekend in Vegas with her boyfriend and worried as her best friend and a bunch of other people took a trip to hell to kill another friend.

As a result, Veronica had done her typical Veronica thing and avoided talking to anyone for a few days. But, being that it was Valentine's Day and that she had some conversations she needed to have, she had to stop avoiding people and get on the phone.

[ooc: okay - I know there are several people who wanted to talk to V. She has two outgoing calls to make, but this post is open for incoming calls or conversations with Piper & Cal. Just please use my minor OCD to keep things straight in my head.]

"You wanna take away my coupons," she pointed out. "And after I gave you that very nice lapdance..."

Cameron sighed. "I'm not taking away your coupons," he assured her. "And this wasn't how I expected this phonecall to go."

"I love you," Veronica replied. "Any exciting plans for the day?"

"No, not really. I've been hiding in my room since I came back," he replied. "How's things there?"

Veronica sighed. "I think Cal is crazy and Piper has barely come out of her room since Monday."

"Cal's been weird the whole summer," Cameron sighed, wishing he'd been able to talk to Cal before he left Neptune that weekend. "Is Piper avoiding Cal?"

"You didn't hear what happened the other day, did you?" she realized, wincing.

Pause. "No," he said suspiciously. "What happened?"

Veronica sighed. "Piper and a bunch of other people went to the Underworld to rescue Phoebe and vanquish Bel."

"What? When? What happened? What bunch of people?" he rattled off the questions.

"Monday night. Piper, Paige, Angel, Piper's sons and some of their friends," Veronica said. "I'm really not sure who all went. Piper told me it was too dangerous for me to go."

"What happened?" he repeated. "Did they find Bel?"

"Yeah," she swallowed. "He's... gone."

Cameron went quiet for a long time before he finally managed to speak again. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"I didn't want to talk about it," Veronica said. "I'm sorry. I should have called you."

"Yeah, you should have," he agreed. He didn't want to sound harsh, but it probably still came out that way. "I told him I'd help."

"Cameron, there was no way to help him. He wasn't Bel anymore."

"Maybe not but..." he sighed and scrubbed a hand across his face. "I thought Chris and Wyatt were Piper's sons?"

"Yeah, they are," Veronica said.

"Oh," he frowned. "And their friends went with them, but Bel's didn't count?"

Veronica sighed again. "Cameron, I'm not going to fight with you on Valentine's Day. I wasn't involved in the planning of the trip or deciding who got to go. And, yeah, maybe part of the reason I didn't tell you anything was going on was because I'm selfish and I love you too much to let you risk your life."

"I promised him I'd help," Cameron repeated.

"There was nothing of Bel left to help," Veronica repeated.

"Then I should have..." he didn't finish the thought and sucked in a breath. "I don't know. I'm sorry, I just hate feeling useless."

"Believe me, I know," she said softly. "But the best thing we can do now is be supportive of Phoebe and Piper and everyone else."
