Veronica & Piper's Apartment - Wednesday All Day

The last week had been insane - in both good and bad ways. Veronica had gained a temporary roommate, spent a weekend in Vegas with her boyfriend and worried as her best friend and a bunch of other people took a trip to hell to kill another friend.

As a result, Veronica had done her typical Veronica thing and avoided talking to anyone for a few days. But, being that it was Valentine's Day and that she had some conversations she needed to have, she had to stop avoiding people and get on the phone.

[ooc: okay - I know there are several people who wanted to talk to V. She has two outgoing calls to make, but this post is open for incoming calls or conversations with Piper & Cal. Just please use my minor OCD to keep things straight in my head.]

"Oh," he frowned. "And their friends went with them, but Bel's didn't count?"

Veronica sighed again. "Cameron, I'm not going to fight with you on Valentine's Day. I wasn't involved in the planning of the trip or deciding who got to go. And, yeah, maybe part of the reason I didn't tell you anything was going on was because I'm selfish and I love you too much to let you risk your life."

"I promised him I'd help," Cameron repeated.

"There was nothing of Bel left to help," Veronica repeated.

"Then I should have..." he didn't finish the thought and sucked in a breath. "I don't know. I'm sorry, I just hate feeling useless."

"Believe me, I know," she said softly. "But the best thing we can do now is be supportive of Phoebe and Piper and everyone else."

"How's Phoebe?" he asked right away, remembering that she had followed Bel. "Is she back to normal?"

"I don't know," Veronica admitted. "She and Paige stayed here with Piper on Monday night, but I didn't really talk to them."

Cameron let out a long sigh. "Can we go back to Vegas?"

"I wish," Veronica said. "I miss you."

"I miss you too," he replied. "A lot. How much longer until summer?"

"Not that long," she said. "Hey, when are you going to hear from the Academy?"

"I don't know. It's usually somewhere in March, but it can take longer," he explained. "I'm trying not to think about it too much."

"They'd be crazy if they didn't accept you," she told him. "And then I'll get to brag about my boyfriend, the air force cadet."

"As opposed to having to try and hide the fact that you're dating a high school kid?" he teased.

"Oh, yes, you're a terrible embarrassment," Veronica deadpanned.

"I knew it!" he accused. "That's why you got me the fake ID, isn't it?"

"Yeah, that's it totally."

He sighed. "And yet, you're still going out with me. How many Valentines did you get offered today?"

"The sun isn't even up here yet, baby," she reminded him. "So you're the first." She paused. "And the only one I'm interested in."

He was about to argue that the sun was already up when the whole timezone thing sunk in. "Damn, did I wake you up?"

"I was expecting it," she told him. "I'm on to you, Mitchell."

"One day I'll remember," he promised. "Right now it was more important to beat all those wannabe lovers to the punch. Can you put up a sign to make it clear that you're taken?"

"Would a 'Property of Cameron' tattoo on my forehead work?"

"Can you tag on a 'Mitchell' so none of the other Cameron's get any ideas?" he checked.
