The Den of Evilness, Tuesday Afternoon

Piper knew her prank was set in motion. She was a bit surprised the boys haven't called to flail at her yet. She thought about calling them to make sure they were okay, but then she remembered what they had done a few weeks ago and knew they needed to be taught a lesson.

Right now, she was sitting on the couch, contemplating a nap before she had to go to work.

After agonizing about the secret Phoebe had told him, Wyatt finally gathered his courage enough to call his mother and confirm it. Maybe it was a false alarm. Please?

"Dude, what are we going to say?" Chris asked, tapping his foot impatiently.

"I don't know," Wyatt said, staring at the phone. "Ask how she's doing and see if she brings it up?"

Piper heard the phone ringing and quickly glanced at the caller ID. So now Wyatt is calling. She smiled mischievously. "Hello?"

Wyatt pressed the speaker phone button on his phone so that Chris could hear Piper and Piper could hear Chris. "Hi, Mom," he said. "Just calling to check in and, um, see how you're doing. Chris is here, too."

"Hey," Chris said, still tapping his foot. "We haven't talked to you in a while, so we wanted to see how you were."

"Oh, um, yeah, I've been kind of busy with work and...stuff," Piper replied. "It's good to hear from you."

"How are you feeling?" Wyatt asked. "Everything okay?"

"Everything's fine," Piper said quickly, like she was trying to keep a secret. "Nothing's wrong. Just a little more tired than usual..."

"Have you been to a doctor at all?" Chris asked. "Maybe you need a checkup."

"Good idea," Wyatt agreed. "You need to be careful about your health." Pause. "Because demons might try to take advantage if you're sick," he added lamely.

"Why would you think I'm sick or need a check up?" Piper asked, sounding wary. Mostly, she was trying very hard not to laugh.

"Well, uh, you said that you've been really tired," Chris said, starting to flail a little. "So, you know, better to be safe than sorry, right?"

Chris had handwavily told Prue about Piper being pregnant. This did not make Prue happy. Prue was now calling Piper to yell talk to her. In a yelling sort of way.

Piper stared at the caller ID. This was not a phone number she recognized. "Hello?"

It took Prue a few moments to answer. This is the first time she's heard Piper's voice since she died.

"Um, hey Piper. This is Prue." she said. And feeling she should probably clarify she added, "Fandom Prue."

Piper blinked. She wasn't expecting to hear from Fandom Prue. "Oh, um, hi."

"I know this is weird but I heard some things from Chris and I couldn't not call because, hello, older sister and-" Prue took a deep breath. She always thought if she'd be asking anybody this it would be Phoebe. "Piper Halliwell, are you pregnant?!"

Piper flailed just a little. Even though this Prue wasn't hers, not to mention she was younger, she was still her big sister. Hearing her ask that particular question in that tone? Yeah, definite flailage going on. "Um...no?"

"Oh thank god." said Prue. She laughed a little out of relief. "I thought I was going to have to go to California and throw your boyfriend through a wall."

Piper let out a small eep sound. Knowing Prue, she was probably very serious about that. "No, you really don't have to do that. I was just messing with Chris and Wyatt."

"Messing with them? So you were in this with Phoebe?" she asked, using her 'I'm disappointed in you' big sister tone. In between the flailing this weekend she had initially thought Phoebe was trying to mess with Chris because of what he'd done to Anders.

The dreaded big sister disappointment tone. Piper sighed. "Don't be mad at Phoebe, okay? It was my idea."

It was actually Veronica's idea, but Piper kept that to herself.

"You really scared them, Piper. They think they aren't going to exist in the future." she said. "What did they do to deserve that?"

"I know I did. And they know the truth now though it's still being played out," Piper said. "I just wanted to teach them a lesson so they would stop meddling."
