Piper was sitting on the couch reading an assignment before class. Mostly, she stared at her business text trying to understand the assignment. She wasn't quite awake yet.

Before classes, Phoebe picked up her phone and dialed a specific number.

Piper reached for her cellphone, glancing at the caller ID. "Hey Pheebs."

"Piper... did I catch you at a bad time?" Phoebe's voice was soft, and a little shaky.

[absolutesnark]

"No, I have time to talk. What's up?" Piper asked, noticing the tone in her sister's voice.

"He got me to promise him I'd stop him if he loses control of his demon."

[absolutesnark]

"Oh Phoebe," Piper said quietly, her voice filled with sympathy. She knew exactly what Phoebe meant by stopping him.

Phoebe leaned against her wall. "I promised him and I meant it. I cannot and will not let his demon hurt anyone, but, God, Piper..."

[absolutesnark]

"I know..." Piper said. "But maybe if won't come to that."

[sensethevisions]

"I want to hope that, but he's so upset, so scared that he's going to lose control of the demon and I'm going to get hurt. He's scared he'll hurt other people. I've never seen him like this Piper."

"We still have time to figure things out," Piper said. "But...if it does come to that, I'll be there for you. You shouldn't have to deal with that alone."

Phoebe nodded, trying not to let her sister know she was near tears. "Thank you, Piper, I appreciate that. I'm trying to think positive about all of this... but I'm rapidly stalling out on that. I just want things to be safe and normal again."

"I know things are rough right now, but you can't lose hope. Not yet," Piper said, trying not to sound worried. It wasn't like Phoebe to seem so defeated.

"I need someone to pummel over this."

[absolutesnark]

"You can pummel my business professor if that'll make you feel better," Piper said, trying to lighten the mood a little.

"He giving you a hard time?"

[absolutesnark]

"No, just a lot of school work," Piper replied.

[sensethevisions]

"Oh, I poured a bottle over some guy's head last night at work. He ogled my chest, said it was amusing that there was a female bartender, told me to soak my head in sulphiric acid so I would look outside the way I looked inside... and was just a regular obnoxious pain in the ass."

"Seriously" Piper blinked. "Need me to blow him up?"

"He was a creep who got all offended when I grabbed his face and made him look me in the face and not the chest. Grams would have torn him apart had she seen and heard this." She sighed. "He actually said I was beneath him, PIper."

[absolutesnark]

"Can I at least threaten to blow him up?" Piper asked. "Maybe he'll learn some manners that way."

"I'll introduce you to him if he's still here the next time you come to visit."

[absolutesnark]

"Excellent," Piper said. She might have been cackling a little. "So, you're coming home for Christmas, right?"

"That's the plan," Phoebe agreed.

[absolutesnark]

"Good," Piper said. "I'm looking forward to winter break."

[sensethevisions]

"I am, too, mostly."

[absolutesnark]

"Mostly?" Piper repeated. "Anything else bothering you?"

[sensethevisions]

"I'm worried about leaving him alone for too long."

[absolutesnark]

Piper thought about that for a moment. "Is there any way he can stay somewhere in San Francisco while you're here? That way, you could probably keep an eye on him."

And make sure he doesn't hurt anyone, she thought to herself.

"Can you help me look around and see? I cold get him a hotel room nearby perhaps?"

[absolutesnark]

"I can do that," Piper replied. "Definitely."

[sensethevisions]

"Thanks, Piper. I should get to class."

[absolutesnark]

"Yeah, I should too," Piper agreed. "Be careful, Pheebs, okay?"

"I will. Talk to you later, Piper."

"Talk to you later," Piper said before hanging up.
