Phone Call to Bel

After the emails she'd traded with Cameron last night, Veronica decided to call Bel to see if she could book Bel's Cosmic Taxi service for a Saturday evening ice cream date.

Bel noted the caller ID and answered the phone with a resigned sigh. "Where do you need to be shimmered now?" he asked.

"No where," Veronica replied.

"Who do you need shimmered to you then?" Bel asked.

"You act like I wouldn't just call you to talk," Veronica said.

Bel blinked at the phone. "You want to talk to me? Whatever it was, I didn't do it. I didn't mean to burn the house down. Anders is mistaken. I'm not going to kill River, not yet at least."

"Who's house? What is Anders mistaken about? And what did River do?"

"Nothing."

"Uh huh." The tone of Veronica's voice clearly indicated eyerolling. "I actually was calling to see if you were busy Saturday evening."

"Don't really have any plans yet," Bel said. "Why, what's up? Need someone immolated?"

"Actually I was hoping you'd shimmer out here and ravish me."

"Is your bed sturdy enough, or do you just want to do it up against the wall?" Bel said. "Or both?"

"Are you man enough for both?"

"And then some," Bel said. "You can even bring a friend. Got a roommate?"

"Yep. A cute, snarky blonde. Think you can handle us both?"

"Only one way to find out," Bel said. "Name the time."

"Seven your time, four mine on Saturday?"

"Works for me," Bel said. "Get plenty of rest, because you're going to be up all night."

"Oh baby," Veronica deadpanned. "Guess I should skip the candles and jazz."

"If you want to set the mood before I get there, that's fine with me," Bel said. "But once I'm there I'll be the one lighting fires."

"Wow, okay, that line won't ever actually work to pick up chicks."

"You called me for the booty call," Bel said. "I don't really need any lines, do I?"

"Guess it's time to admit I didn't really call for a booty call," Veronica said.

"Oh," Bel said. "Damn. You got me all excited there for a minute."

"Sorry. I was actually hoping you could shimmer Cameron out here on Saturday," Veronica admitted.

"For a threesome?" Bel asked. "Didn't know you had it in you, V. I thought all the rumors were just rumors."

"I don't mind if you join us for what Cam is coming out for," Veronica said.

"So you've moved on already?" Bel said. "You and Cam, huh? How's that working out?"

"No, not me and Cam. He wants to bring me ice cream. I'll bake brownies," Veronica offered.

"He wants a hot fudge Veronica sundae?" Bel asked.

Veronica paused before responding because she suddenly thought of the kiss before she left Fandom and the weird voicemail and emails.

"Oooh, struck a nerve, have I?" Bel said, grinning into the phone.

"No," Veronica replied quickly. "We're just friends and he wants to help me deal with Archie leaving."

"Uh huh," Bel said, clearly unconvinced. "What body parts does he want to help you deal with?"

"It's not like that," Veronica insisted. "He just wants to bring me ice cream."

"And lick it off you?"

Veronica sighed. "Yeah, whatever. Can you bring him out or not?"

"Do I get to watch?" Bel asked.

"No, but I'll give you brownies."

Bel sighed dramatically. "I suppose that's adequate payment for bringing somebody out for a booty call."

"It's not a booty call. He'll only be here for a few hours," Veronica said.

"Plenty of time," Bel said, smirking.

"I'll let Cameron know to meet you around seven."

"Bel's Cosmic Taxi at your service," Bel said.

"Thanks Bel, see you Saturday," Veronica said, hanging up.
