Bel knew Phoebe had talked to Anders the day before, but he needed to know for himself about just what was going on with blue hair. And the possible fraternizing with Dr. Troy.

Anders eyed the caller ID and raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, o hot demon boyfriend that I love very much?"

Sucking up a bit? Maaaaaaaaaaaaybe a little.

Of course, Bel had to wonder if Anders was just being over-eager in trying to cover something up. "Hey," he said neutrally. "What's up?"

"Not much. Fridays are my lazy days." As evidenced by the fact that Anders was currently lying on a large rock out on the beach, smoking a cigarette. "I half expected you to pick up the phone and tell me my hair is blue."

"Your hair is blue," Bel said dutifully. "What the hell?"

Anders grinned up at a passing bird, who rewarded him for the random act of kindness by not leaving him a little present. "Why not? Troy wanted to dye his after he saw Bridge's green hair, and I figured I'd join in the fun."

"When did you start hanging around with that jackass?" Bel growled, twitching.

"Jackass, what? You've never even met him," Anders protested. He knew what that growling meant, though, and awwww, it was cute when Bel got kind of jealous.

"Of course I've met him," Bel said sharply. "He looks just like me, how could I miss him?"

"What?" Anders boggled at his phone for a second. "Oh, for frak's sake, no! Not that jerk from the clinic, you dork! Troy Bolton, my running buddy. Whowasaskingmeforadviceonsexlastweek."

"What?" Bel boggled back. "He wanted to have sex with you last week? Did you sleep with him?"

"No!" Bel might have hurt his ear for a second, from the resulting noise when Anders dropped the phone and flailed, then scrambled to pick it back up. "No, lords! He wanted advice! To use on someone else! I'm not . . ."

Anders sighed. "Bel, I'm not cheating on you, okay? Why would you even think I would?"

"Because you're acting all weird!" Bel said. "What am I supposed to think when you're hanging out with someone who has the same name as the guy who looks just like me, only older and not as good-looking, and you're dyeing your hair blue and just . . . being weird!"

Anders stared at the phone for a moment. "Bel? I love you, you dork. He's a friend. That's all."

". . . better be," Bel said gruffly.

"What part of 'I love you' did you miss?" teased Anders. "I told you I was yours. That's not changing."

"But your hair has," Bel grumbled. "Dork."

"Your dork, though," Anders pointed out. "Still your dork. Always gonna be your dork."

"Am I gonna have to make that clear to anyone at Homecoming?" Bel asked.

"Maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe," Anders hedged.

Just because he liked it when Bel got all possessive.

Bel made a low, rumbling growl.

Anders whimpered slightly. "Yeah, just like that . . . is it time for you to visit yet?"

"Just a few weeks," Bel said, smirking at the whimper. "We'll have lots of time to . . . make up for lost time."

"I'll make sure I get all of my sleeping done before you get here then," Anders replied. Yes, there was still a touch of whimpering in his voice.

"Good boy," Bel purred. "Because you won't get any rest while we're there."

"I better not." Anders definitely shivered a little bit at Bel's tone of voice. "Hey, Bel?"

"What?" Bel asked.

"I miss you," Anders told him. "I love you."

Throwing him over for some other guy. Ha.

"Love you, too," Bel said in his patented gruff omg-I-am-showing-emotion voice.

Anders recognized that voice, and it made him smile. "No more worrying about me hooking up with anyone else, okay? Like I'm pretty sure Phoebe's already told you."

"All right," Bel said. "No more . . . changing the color of any other parts of your body."

Anders held up a hand. "With the seagulls as my witness, I promise no more color-changing. Is that your way of saying you like me just the way I am?" he teased lightly.

"Just the way you are," Bel said. "Even if you are a robot."

"You totally love my awesome robot stamina. Shut up." Anders laughed. "Good to know. Dork. Schmoopy dork."
