The latest training session had been intense. The students showed exceptional promise and Tori was proud of them.

Finding she needed some time to unwind and relax after this extra long workout, Tori grabbed her board and hit the beach. No surprise there.

Sitting in the sand, looking out at the horizon, Tori glanced at her phone and wondered what people were up to. She missed her friends. She missed Fandom.

Ring, ring, went the phone, courtesy of a caller on the other side of the bay.

Glancing at the phone, Tori grinned as she answered it. "Tori Hanson."

"Toriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!" Conner blurted out, a little too ebulliently. "How are things on your side of the water?"

"Conner, hey!" Tori grinned brightly, happy to be hearing from him. "Pretty good, can't really complain. My students are showing real promise. How are things on your end?"

"Not too bad," Conner replied cheerfully. "My soccer kids finished third in their league, which I can't really complain about since I really had no idea what I was doing this year. I'm thinking about going to college myself, so I'm gonna be scouting out schools in the area and maybe trying for spring admission. How're the guys?"

"Oh, congrats," Tori was happy to hear that. "I bet you were a great coach. Yeah, I'm still not completely decided on college yet, honestly. The guys are good, Blake's out on a racing tour. They're happy that I'm back, Cam especially, I think."

Why yes, she was smirking.

"I think it'll give me a little more credibility next year when I start camp up," Conner explained. "Plus, well, I kind of shot my chance to play for the Reefside Wave, and playing college soccer will keep me from getting too rusty. Say hi to 'em for me, will you?"

"It definitely will," Tori nodded, even though he couldn't see her. "I will definitely tell them you say hi and I'll keep an eye out for your games, then. Just give me a heads up and I'll bring the guys. You'll have your very own cheering section," she chuckled.

"Built in cheering section," Conner laughed. "Awesome. How's life in Blue Bay Harbor? Quiet as it is here in Reefside?"

"You know it," Tori laughed. "Yeah, it's quiet. I don't know if I'll ever get used to it being this quiet. Especially after what we've been through."

"Seriously," Conner agreed. "It's so weird to walk through downtown Reefside every day in a week and never once have to see them rebuilding anything!"

"I almost wish something would happen to break up this lull," Tori admitted.

"Toriiiiii," Conner wheedled, "don't say things like that! Next thing you know the freaking Time Force Rangers are gonna have to come back from the year 3000 and save our butts and . . . you know, that would be fun."

"See? No complaining!" Tori laughed. "It would be fun! I wouldn't mind the Time Force Rangers coming to visit," she glanced around, wondering if they might show up now. But then again, this wasn't Fandom.

"Me neither, but I might kind of go all shameless fanboy on Jen Scotts, and then Gwynn's gonna turn my butt into a pincushion," Conner laughed. "And I like being able to sit down sometimes."

"Mmm, yeah, that might be a problem," Tori smirked. "Which reminds me, I promised her that I'd remind you to call her," she chuckled. "And that I'd keep an eye on you, keep you out of trouble. So no fanboying allowed, sorry."

"Awwwwwww." Tori could probably hear the pout over the phone. "Not even a little? At a safe distance?"

"Okay, maybe a little," Tori was all for compromising.

"You're the best, Tori," he said, less pouty this time. "You won't tell, will you?"

"I won't say a word, I promise," And she meant it, too.

"Tori, did I mention how you're the best?" asked Conner. "I really need to swing over and visit sometime soon."

"Not enough, I don't think," Tori joked, smiling. "Yeah, you do. And I promise to visit you in Reefside, it's only fair."

"Cool. Plan that for the next time Kira's in town and not visiting John Sheppard and the SGA crew, will you? I think she's still looking for excuses to hit me with her guitar."

"I definitely will, just give me a heads up as to when she'll be in," Tori smiled, looking forward to seeing them again. "Oh man, really? Well, I'll try to keep that from happening, but I can't promise anything." It was Kira, after all.

Tori smiled brightly when she heard the voice on the other end. "I'm going to go out on a limb here and say... Robin?"

"Quiet," Tori admitted, not entirely unhappy about that. "I bet Fandom's more exciting than here."

"Not yet, huh?" Tori wondered about that. "I'm sure it'll be exciting in no time. Oh, yes! Talk like a Pirate Day, that must have been fun."

Tori couldn't help but laugh when she heard about their adventures. "It sounds like you guys had a lot of fun. I only wish I could've been there to see it."

"Oh yes, I would've loved to have seen them," Tori grinned. "How are you, Robin?"

"Oh I'm good. My classes are really neat, and I've been making a lot of new friends. Also there's a swamp in the preserve that I go to sometimes, so I don't feel too homesick."

"I'm really happy to hear that, Robin," Tori smiled. "It sounds like you're having a lot of fun."

"Yes. Oh, I'm taking a class on how to survive invasions, so hopefully I'll be prepared."

"Very nice. I'm sure you'll definitely be better prepared for the next one," Tori reassured him. "I just wish they had a class like that while I was still at Fandom."

"Yes, it should definitely be a mainstay," Tori agreed. "Did a lot of new kids arrive for the new semester?" She was sad she had to leave before the welcome party.
