Hearst College - Veronica's Room - Friday Afternoon

Veronica got back to her room after the newspaper meeting, pleased that one of the photos she had taken was going to be used on the front page of next week's edition.

She dropped her notes and camera on her desk, slung her messenger bag across the back of her chair and sprawled out on her stomach on her bed, phone in hand.

The conversation she'd had with Marty the other night had helped a lot and she was in a good mood as she pulled up Cameron's number on her speed dial and hit send.

Veronica laughed. "There's always a chance."

"You're not mocking me, are you?" he asked suspiciously.

"Would I do that?"

She gasped. "I'm offended that you would think that!"

"Uh huh. Sure you are."

"I am! I would never mock you, Cameron."

"Not even a little bit?"

"I'm perfectly sweet and innocent just like my icon says!," she told him.

"Sure. That's exactly why the Secret Banana Society has such a thick file on you," he argued.

"Whatever, dude," she said. "I've read their file on you. I know the truth."

"What file would that be? The fake one or the real one?"

"Give me some credit please. It's not like their security is that difficult to hack."

"That's what they want you to think," he said smugly.

"Trust me, I know everything."

"We'll find out soon enough," he said, trying to sound omnious.

Veronica laughed. "I'm really looking forward to Homecoming," she said.

Cameron smiled. "Me too."

"I should probably go get some dinner," she said reluctantly.

"Dinner's good. Got to keep your strength up after all," Cameron babbled.

It's a good thing she couldn't see him blush. "Homework."

"Right, homework," Veronica said. "Which I actually have some of this weekend."
